Social and emotional learning (SEL) takes place both at in-school and in afterschool settings. SEL development varies in these settings, but staff can build support for youth and work collaboratively. This tool is designed for afterschool and in-school staff first to think about their goals, current progress, and what are the next steps to ensure that youth are reaching their potential.
The second component of the tool brings both afterschool staff and in-school staff together to talk about their goals, progress, and ways to collaborate. By linking these groups together, we can ensure that youth will begin to develop more skills in SEL.
